TRENDS IN JEWELRY FOR 2017 - TRENDOVI U NAKITU ZA 2017. GODINU

<<< Čak i ako niste dizajner nakita, već naprosto ljubitelj umetnosti i različitih kulturnih zbivanja, verovatno želite da budete informisani  u vezi predstojećih trendova i da otkrijete unapred šta se krije iza ugla. Sudeći po TRENDVISION-u, italijanskoj agenciji za predviđanje trendova u nakitu, časovnicima i luksuznim proizvodima, postoje 4 glavna pravca koja treba razmotriti tokom osmišljavanja kolekcija nakita za 2017. godinu.

That made us feel almost claustrophobic about our present place of living and also made us yearn for distant places, those on this planet, but also for intergalactic ones. Mankind, by its nature, has always been nomadic. Today, we travel much faster than in past, we can travel the planet within a day. Digital technologies enable us to travel virtually anywhere we want, we are just a click away from any place on the Earth. We became virtual Nomads. I, personally, like to "travel" and visit random places around the globe, via Google Street Maps (just yesterday I was "driving" up and down Khabarovsk city streets, and I felt weird. It's a post-communist Soviet city, similar to any city in ex Soviet Union, but placed on Asia's far east, near China's border...I guess that makes me Geonaut, too ;).  

So Geo-Luxury stands for browsing. "Browsing is not just an activity, rather a thinking mode. We are browsing for: ideas, words, concepts, people, fashion, shopping." Here we have good news for artists, artisans, crafters and all creative people in general: "A re-discovery of local folklore is stronger than ever, an appreciation of the hand-made, artisanal, recycled and re-used is not only ethical but inspirational and poetic."

<<< Usred mnoštva novih informacija kojima smo konstantno bombardovani od strane različitih onlajn i oflajn medija, stekli smo pogrešan utisak da je došlo do ubrzanja vremena.To je učinilo da se osećamo gotovo klaustrofobično u vezi naših mesta stanovanja, kao i da počnemo da čeznemo za nekim udaljenim mestima, kako onim na ovoj planeti tako i za onim među-galaktičkim. Čovečanstvo je po svojoj prirodi oduvek bilo nomadsko. Danas putujemo mnogo brže nego u prošlosti, možemo obići planetu za samo jedan dan. Sada su tu i digitalne tehnologije koje nam omogućavaju da virtuelno otputujemo gde god poželimo. Sada nas samo jedan klik deli od bilo kog mesta na planeti. Postali smo virtuelni Nomadi. Ja, lično, volim da "putujem" i posećujem ,nasumičnim odabirom, različita mesta na planeti i to uz pomoć Google Street Mapa (baš juče sam se "provozala" ulicama Habarovska i bilo je vrlo čudno videti jedan post-komunistički sovjetski grad, sličnom mnogim gradovima bivšeg Sovjetskog Saveza, koji se nalazi na samom rubu Azije, tik uz granicu sa Kinom...predpostavljam da i mene sklonost ka takvim "putovanjima" čini Geonautom ;) 

Tako da Geo-Luksuz označava i pretraživnje. "Pretraživanje nije samo tamo neka aktivnost, već pre režim razmišljanja. Mi pretražujemo: ideje, reči, koncepte, ljude, modu, kupovinu." Ovde imamo i jednu dobru vest za umetnike, zanatlije i stvaraoce uopšte: "Ponovno otkrivanje lokalnog folklora je jače nego ikad; uvažavanje svega što predstavlja ručni rad, zanat, što je reciklirano i što je našlo novu primenu ne samo da je etično, već je i inspirativno i poetično." 


>>> To be honest, while Sophisticore is a new term we all yet have to learn about, I have to admit that I haven't been aware at all of Normcore, its predecessor. According to WikipediaNormcore is defined as "unisex fashion trend characterized by unpretentious, average looking clothing". Normcore stands for linguistic bland of words "Normal" and "Hardcore". The idea behind this term is in "finding liberation in being nothing special" (!). Sophisticore goes one step further, since it presents evolution of Normcore movement, and it's not about the look, but about the general attitude: "embracing sameness deliberatley, as a new way of being cool, rather than striving for "difference" and "authenticity". In the Era of self-branding and iconicity, to stand out from the anonymity of technology and social media is a surviving instinct."

To me, this sounds like a quite brave idea and reminds me a lot of minimalism. Just recently I have written an article about "Kitsch Vs Minimalism" on my other blog. It's in Serbian, but if you are interested, you can always use Google Translate. While I, personally, am not a big fan of minimalism, in article I have mentioned that sometimes, a need for minimalism is justified. Especially in today's world, overwhelmed with excessive information. In such cases we certainly have to defense ourselves and our senses, by  going for Sophisticore and searching for piece, simplicity and serenity.

<<< Da budem iskrena, dok je Sophisticore novi termin o kome tek treba nešto da naučimo, moram da priznam da nisam ništa znala ni o Normcore-u koji mu je prethodio. Prema Wikipediji, Normcore je definisan kao "uniseks modni trend, karakterističan po nepretencioznoj, prosečnoj odeći."  Normcore je lingvistička mešavina dve reči: "Normal" i "Hardcore". Ideja koja se krije iza ovog termina je "u pronalaženju slobode kroz to da se ne bude ništa posebno" (!). Sophisticore ide jedan korak dalje, pošto on predstavlja evoluciju Normcore-a, gde stvar nije u izgledu, već u generalnom stavu:"namerno prihvatiti istost/istotu (napomena: u srpskom jeziku ne postoji reč koja bi na pravi način dočarala značenje reči "sameness", jer se ne radi o JEDNAKOSTI, već bukvalno o tome da se bude ISTI KAO NEKO DRUGI, u ovom kontekstu "sameness" opisuje utapanje u masu, najsličnije bi možda bile istovetnost, identičnost), kao novi način da se bude cool,  umesto težnje da se bude "različit" i "autentičan". Jer u eri samobrendiranja i ikoničnosti, iskočiti iz anonimnosti tehnologije i socijalnih medija, je pitanje opstanka.  

Meni ovo zvuči kao prilično hrabra ideja i po mnogo čemu me podseća na minimalizam. Baš nedavno sam napisala članak na svom drugom blogu na temu "Kič naspram minimalizma". Iako, lično, nisam veliki ljubitelj minimalizma, baš u tom članku sam napomenula da je potreba za njim ponekad opravdana. Naročito u današnjem svetu, prezasićenom suvišnim informacijama. U takvim slučajevima naravno da treba da odbranimo sebe i naša čula, i to tako što ćemo posegnuti za Sophisticore-om, istovremeno tragajući za mirom, pojednostavljenjem i spokojem.

We have seen how destructive new technologies can be, if used in wrong ways. We have witnessed that instead of liberating us,  they can actually enslave us, in so many ways and levels. Therefor, we became sceptical.

And nostalgical. Nostalgical about our lost hopes for humanity. However, these hopes are still alive. There are more and more people gathered in online communities, defined as "Retrofuturistic". World Wide Web, being both spaceless and timeless, is a very suitable ground for such communities. "Retrofuturists" or "Retronauts" are digging for new scenarios and their visions are refurbished and updated for the present, offering a nostalgic, counterfactual image of what the future might have been, but is not.

I-History is now metaphorically associated with Apple's I-Cloud where the mission is to classify humanity's archive of all topics in an organized and logical Wiki-Style .

<<< Sa pojavom naučne i tehnološke revolucije, pojavile su se i nade i težnje čovečanstva za nekim boljim svetom. Onim koji bi nam život učinio lakšim i smislenijim. I više od toga, nadali smo se i zamišljali kako će nam nove tehnologije omogućiti, ništa manje, nego da se teleportujemo kroz prostor i vreme. Kao i sve ono o čemu smo samo mogli da sanjamo i fantaziramo u našim glavama. Mi danas živimo u toj "obećanoj budućnosti", ali izgleda da su nade prethodnih generacija izneverene. Videli smo koliko destruktivne mogu da budu nove tehnologije, ako se ne upotrebljavaju na ispravan način. Takođe smo bili i svedoci, da umesto da nas oslobode, te iste tehnologije mogu i da nas porobe, na toliko mnogo načina i nivoa. Zbog toga smo postali skeptični.

I nostalgični. Nostalgični za našim izgubljenim nadama za čovečanstvo. Međutim, te nade i dalje žive. Sve je više ljudi koji se okupljaju u tzv. "Retrofuturističkim" online zajednicama. "Retrofuturisti" ili "Retronauti" se iz petnih žila trude da iznađu nove scenarije; njihove vizije su sada obnovljene i usavršene tako da odgovaraju današnjici; oni nude kontra-činjenične slike koje na ilustrativan način prikazuju budućnost kakva je mogla biti, ali nije. 


Aj-Istorija je sada metaforično povezana sa Apple-ovim "I-Cloud"-om i njena misija je da se sve teme iz istorije čovečanstva arhiviraju i organizuju u Wiki-Stilu. 



>>> The rapid development of digital technologies and euphoria about it has brought an imbalance in amount of time we devote to two worlds: the holographic and the real one. By browsing, messaging, etc. we are engaged almost 24/7 in virtual activities, thus creating our virtual profiles. They often reflect our aspired lifestyles and identities, rather than real ones. We are hypnotized with newly discovered digital opportunities, so much and in a way that we give up from traditional, real world resources and instead of enjoying the real nature, i.e. we enjoy in a digital photo of it, "...online communities and video games are becoming inspirational places."

Is virtual world an escape from the real one? Is real world becoming too much unbearable, so that we rather choose to live in illusion? Are we all - Illusionists :)?

Oni često reflektuju životne stilove i identitete kojima težimo, a ne one koji su stvarni. Hipnotisani smo novootkrivenim virtuelnim mogućnostima, u toj meri i na način koji ukazuje da smo maltene odustali od tradicionalnog, realnog sveta i onoga što nam on pruža. Tako, nrp.,umesto da uživamo u prirodi, mi radije uživamo u fotografijama te iste prirode. "Online zajednice, video igre, itd. su sada mesta gde pronalazimo inspiraciju."

      I think that leading companies are already done with 2016, they are selling 2016 collections and planning new ones for the season 2017/18.
