Guest Blogging for the first time :) - Ja kao gostujući bloger, po prvi put :)

I was featured today as a guest blogger on Teena's blog http://www.serendipitini.com/ - Teena invited me to share my story about how did I start making jewelry and about applying  fiber art during the process. It was fun to make a retrospective review, to go back in time and to realize  that it was, actually, the  "Anthropologie"  store in NYC and NYC Metro Subway knitters, that made me decide to leave, gradually, a mass fashion industry and go for unique, handmade pieces and later  - jewelry. You can find out more about it on Teena's blog.

⋙ Just a few remarks: Back in 2000's, after a long decade of minimalism, there was an expansion of handmade items in whole fashion industry. Handmade laces, embroideries, beadwork and complex garment patterns were all around, even in department stores. But the concept of "Anthropologie" as a store and as a brand, at that time, was something I fell so much in love with. I visited their store on a regular basis and almost religiously studied everything: the window decoration, store itself and every item in it. I even kept receiving their seasonal catalogues  long after I came back home, into my country. I cherish them and love to go through pages, from time to time, for inspiration and daydreaming:). I'd say that Anthropologie today is much more commercial...
My precious "Anthropologie" catalogues - Moji dragi "Anthropologie" katalozi

Čuvam ih i pazim i prelistavam, s vremena na vreme, jer me inspirišu i uvode u dnevno sanjarenje:). Antropolodži danas je malo više komercijalan...

⋙ Second: There is a long tradition of knitting and/or crocheting in NYC Metro Subway.
Drugo: U Njujorku postoji duga tradicija štrikanja/kukičanja tokom vožnje podzemnom železnicom.

⋙ I googled for "NYC subway knitters" and image results made me laugh - very little girls, mostly guys:))!!! Lovley:)))!!! I believe it's because of the meditative properties of knitting and crocheting. Everybody should try it:)! You never know what will come out of it. Look at me:), I have changed a career.
p.s. I have found this interesting  blog subway knitter, and I love its' brief description:"Subway Knitter ...not afraid to knit in public" :)!
Možda promenite i karijeru:).
